Zelli Porcelain Prize Shortlist

I've just heard that 'Many Hands Make Light Work' has been shortlisted for the prestigious Zelli Porcelain Prize. The competition will be judged on 22nd October by the legendary Sister Wendy Beckett, Dr.Jeffrey Jones and Igor Klimenkoff. The shortlisted works are on show at the gallery until the end of November.

Fight to save the Park Gallery!

The Park Gallery, Falkirk's future is in doubt after a decision to relocate to Callendar House was approved in principle by councilors. I have an exhibition planned for there with Clare Waddle and Julia Douglas at the end of August, so am particularly worried about this!

A Tiny Wee Bit of Light Relief

Here is the newest addition to the Light Relief family - 'A Tiny Wee Bit of Light Relief'. It was launched this weekend at Homes & Interiors and went down really quite well. We're really pleased with how the smaller scale pieces are working out - they're really very cute!

Homes and Interiors Exhibition

We're off to the SECC today to install our range of chandeliers 'A Wee Bit of Light Relief' on the CraftScotland stand at the Homes and Interiors Scotland exhibition. The shows open Friday Saturday Sunday this week. This will be the first showcase of our new range of smaller lights to compliment the original design and make the product more accessible to more people. I'll post some pics of the new range in situe a bit later...

Coburg House Open Studios Weekend

I've just come back from a holiday to the best news - TheScottish Arts Council have awarded me a professional development grant of over £9000 for research and development of new work for my collaborative exhibition at the Lighthouse in February 2010. And on that note ... things are developing nicely - Clare and Julia are getting quite expert at working in clay, while Clare has been teaching me how to cast paper forms and Julia is going to teach me to knit. More piccies of the work in progress coming soon...
